I am expecting a puppy next spring/summer. I have an Aussie rescue who has made wonderful progress thru CC/desensitization to address her behavioral issues. Introducing her to the puppy in the most positive way possible will be critical.
Any suggestions as to how/where to do that first initial introduction of the Aussie to the puppy? Outside my house during a walk?

Yes, I think during a walk would be great – ideally when the puppy is already tired and won’t be jumping and wild 🙂 Of course, you might want to keep them separated inside the home as well for the first while and very carefully craft positive meetings – such as mostly on walks, mostly when the puppy is tired and well-behaved etc.
For some dogs, it is not possible to let a puppy lose in the home right away – I would plan for a gradual, well-managed introduction over time (eg every day a little more time spent together, with long breaks for the Aussie to have some alone time without the puppy).
