I have a little car seat for my puppy. When we drive he barks the whole time. Once when it was a longer drive he started getting sleepy and settled down. I dont know if it’s fear/anxious barking or excitement. Ive tried putting toys and treats in with him. Neither helped.

Does he drool and/or pant in the car? Does it start as soon as you get to the car, or only once the engine is running, or after some time of driving? Does he throw up? And when did it start?

My puppy (now 15 weeks) barks at everything that moves when he is in the front yard (People walking, other dogs, leaves falling from the trees, squirrels, cars passing by). Once he has met the dog or people walking by, he stops barking but not everyone wants to stop and pet a barking dog. Any advice on how to get him to stop barking every time I take him outside?

Is he barking also when you are training as shown in e.g. the attention game in the first lessons, or only when he is left to his own devices exploring and walking around? Does it sound more like a playful bark, or a bit reactive/scared bark (maybe with hackles raised)?

The barking seems to be more playful when seeing other dogs/humans when going on a walk or when we take him out to pee. He also barks and lungs at vehicles (note that he is 1/2 border collies and 1/2 german shepherd) which doesn’t seem to sound playful at all.

As far as the playful barking at other people and dogs – can you catch his attention with a treat or toy and focus that playfulness on you? Regarding the lunging at vehicles – is he able to be distracted at all with a treat to for example sit for attention or even do a little chase game?
